New publication: proceedings of City Logistics 2023

The proceedings of the 12th International Conference on City Logistics have been published. The conference focused on urban freight transport issues, models, evaluation methods, and planning approaches. The proceedings present 55 articles.

The results of the conference were:

  1. Urban freight transport has become a significant issue in city planning due to challenges such as traffic congestion, environmental impacts, safety concerns, and energy conservation. ​
  2. Various city logistics schemes have been proposed and implemented in different cities to address the challenges of urban freight transport, including joint delivery systems, advanced information systems, off-hour delivery, and access control to city centers. ​
  3. The Twelfth International Conference on City Logistics proceedings covers recent developments in modeling, evaluating, and planning city logistics schemes. They also review existing schemes’ performance and discuss emerging practical application techniques. ​
  4. The application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is highlighted as crucial for data collection and managing urban freight transport. Discussions also include using the Internet of Things (IoT) and Physical Internet (PI) in freight transport platforms. ​
  5. The document also mentions the importance of public-private partnerships, economic analyses, decision support systems, and new areas of city logistics like big data analysis, artificial intelligence, zero-emission delivery, and the use of electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and bicycles in urban freight transport.
